History
Coshocton County has a rich and diverse history, starting with the Old Stone Fort, reputed to be the oldest structure in Ohio and presumed to be built by a scout serving under the French explorer LaSalle around 1679. Roscoe Village is part of the original Erie Canal Locks.

Natural Resources Coshocton County lies in the Muskingum River Basin and has an abundant water supply.
Educational Resources The Coshocton Educational Center recently opened with four separate educational entities, Muskingum College, Ohio State University, Central Ohio Technical College and Hocking Hills, as members. The member institutions are collaborating to provide a selection of two year and master's programs to local and surrounding county residents. Programs currently offered include nursing, computer skills, and education. Hocking Hills is planning to offer hospitality courses and training.
Convention Facilities The restored dance pavilion at Lake Park can host up to 300 attendees. Smaller conferences can be hosted at Towne Center Civic Hall, KidsAmerica or the Coshocton Village Inn and Suites.
High-Speed Internet Access Broadband services including Wireless, DSL and Cable are available in various parts of the county.
Tourism and Lifestyle Coshocton combines a comfortable atmosphere with plenty of attractions and things to do. Lake Park Complex offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities and is one of three golf courses in the county. Two working potteries, two wineries, a basket factory and a unique bridal outlet/delicatessen combination provide an interesting mix of local businesses. Local sportsmen will appreciate the third largest reported county deer population in Ohio.
The arts are also strong in Coshocton. The community band provides free entertainment each weekend in June and July on the lawn at the historic courthouse, and the community choir offers two concerts every year. The All Ohio Youth Choir also performs in town annually.
