A Workforce Tool Kit. This publication details a number of strategies
and resources for expanding, training, restructuring, and financing your

Tools for Recruiting Qualified Employees. This site provides links to
two critical employee recruitment tools:

America's Job Bank (AJB). On AJB, you can list your job openings,
post a job, or update an existing job listing. AJB also provides a database of
electronic resumes that have been put into the system by individuals seeking
job opportunities. The system is designed so that you as an employer can search
those electronic resumes to find qualified employees. AJB can be accessed

The U.S. Employment Service (USES). The USES provides Labor
Exchange services to employers using a three-tiered system including Self
Service, Staff-Assisted services, and Intensive Services that are tailored to
meet the needs of the Business and Employer Community. This site provides

Information about Federal Tax Incentive Programs for Employers. This
site includes information about national business incentive programs targeting
enterprise zones as well as information about the Work Opportunities Tax Credit

repositories and reports on long-term industry projections and short-term

collection of some of the Federal legislation and policies that may impact your

One Stop Web Portal. This site is the nation’s largest publicly funded
resource for jobseekers and businesses. It provides employers online tools to:
post job openings; search resume databases; set up an automated search to find
potential employees; find wages and employment trends; create customized job
descriptions; access occupational licensing requirements; find local workforce
development services; locate other employers by industry; get information about
employer rights and responsibilities and information about federal wage
regulations. This site is linked directly with

The "Plain English" Version of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 provides
an overview of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 (Public Law 105-220),
the country’s cornerstone workforce development legislation. The summary
highlights the Act’s major features and gives succinct information about the
structure, funding and target population groups served through the WIA system.

The
Occupational Information Network (O*NET). O*NET is a unique,
comprehensive database of worker competencies, job requirements, resources and
more and is the nation's primary source of occupational information. O*NET can
help employers: expand the pool of candidates for open positions; help develop
job descriptions quickly; define job-specific success factors; refine
recruitment and training goals; and design competitive compensation systems.

The
Business Resource Group. This site provides information about the U.S.
Department of Labor - Employment and Training Administration’s Business
Relations Group (BRG). The BRG was established to coordinate with federal,
state and local public and private sector partners to: (1) identify businesses
and industries in high-growth sectors of the economy and translate their
workforce needs to the public workforce system; (2) help the public workforce
system respond effectively to business and industry needs for a skilled
workforce; (3) help communities use workforce investment system resources as an
economic development tool; and (4) work with the U.S. Department of Education
to explore vocational education strategies that respond to business and
industry needs for a skilled American workforce.
