Technical and community colleges offer a variety of two-year degree and
certificate programs. Many have longstanding partnerships with the industries
in the counties they serve and offer customized training based on industry
need.
All counties are served by Joint Vocational School Districts (JVSD's). Most are
defined as Full-Service Centers by the Ohio Department of Education which
indicates that the school provides full and part-time adult training programs
and works with local business and industry to train and upgrade the skills of
the workforce. The adult skill training programs prepare unemployed and/or
underemployed persons for jobs and provide customized training programs for
employed persons.
