Educational InstitutionsLibraries

Appalachian Ohio offers a strong mix of educational opportunities. The region is home to 28 institutions of higher education, including seven four-year universities and colleges and 21 two-year colleges, in addition to 28 vocational schools and career centers. Local school districts also offer a wide variety of academic and extra curricular activities to prepare students for the changing economy. Local high school football games still drive the schedule for Friday nights and communities turn out to support band competitions, school plays and girls' basketball games.
